Fun Class: V for Vegetable

Fun Class is no longer for Chloe to learn Alphabets, but more for writing, spelling and of course, for fun!
She is learning to write letters (her writing is still kind of artistic now), and blending the phonics for more letters.
She can do this kind of exercises by herself without my guidance:
Each day, she does about 2 to 4 pages of the exercises book, all by her initiative. I have never ever force her to do any of the activities posted on this blog, my tips are:
1) Don't make learning a chore to the kid
2) She decides what exercises book to do (I choose and buy all the books, those that are interesting to me)
3) She decides whether to carry on doing a page (I do not force her to complete the exercises, she can always stop when she is tired and continue some other days)
4) Let her try even I know she will do it wrongly (kids learn from mistake, not from our nagging)
5) Compliment her if she has done correctly (she would be very happy if I draw some stars on her book, I do not encourage giving physical gift)
6) Encourage her to find out the answer, she would be trilled if she got the answer and wanted to keep on trying.

I'll post about this in detail next time.

Back to my fun class for V.

She sang the greeting song to start the lesson.

She traced the upper and lower case of letter V. The lighting was not very good, thus can't really see the letter.

We listened to the phonics sound and song of letter V, which went like this:
Veronica vacuum v, v, v.....
v is the sound of V!

She took out the pictures of objects spelled after letter V from an envelop, she would tell me the name of the objects before pasting them on the letter V paper.

She labeled the pictures.

The completed letter V picture! If you would like to download all the pictures spelled after A - Z, click here.

I prompted her to spell "vegetable", she wrote the letters very badly, and I did not take a picture of it. For technique on prompting, you may refer here.

She was colouring the picture of a few vegetables. She is not familiar with some of the vegetables and I happen to have corn in my fridge, so I showed it to her. She peeled the leaves of the corn curiously.

Her colouring of the picture of vegetables:

The next craft was vegetable printing. I tried to search my fridge and found the following which she can play around with.

She brushed the paint on the vegetable, and printed it on the A4 paper.

She was happy trying out printing using all the vegetables given to her.

Her completed craft. I wrote a "V" on the paper.

We sang the closing song to end the lesson :)
